Čenovská, Kateřina ; Sádlo, Jiří (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
The aim of the work is to introduce a different way of looking at the process of urban planning in the so-called shrinking cities. The plan of endless development is questioned. The stagnation scenario, as a form of conservation, is presented as a certain level of natural development of the city. The potential of forgotten parts of the city is emphasized. Andrle, Jakub ; Litera, Bohuslav (advisor) ; Horák, Slavomír (referee)
This study deals with the current demographic situation of the Russian Far East and tries to assess the main patterns of migration in the region. The work is structured in five chapters. The first chapter aims at defining the Russian Far East geographically and concentrates on the most important features of its economy. The second chapter is devoted to region's rapid depopulation since the beginning of 1990s. This part analyses the dominant demographic trends within the district and tries to describe the prevalent patterns of migration on its territory. The third chapter presents a brief historical overview of the colonization and resettlement policies towards the Russian Far East. The main goal of this part is to evaluate the overall effectivity of both tsarist Russia and the Soviet Union in their efforts to populate their easternmost periphery and secure the border with China. The fourth chapter deals with the problem of Chinese migration to the Russian Far East. The emphasis is put on the myth of China's "demographic expansion" and also on the question of possible benefits of drawing in more Chinese workforce in the foreseeable future. The Social Impact of the Process of Depopulation of Villages
HENDRYCHOVÁ, Eva
This bachelor thesis deals with the process of depopulation of rural areas and its social impact. It focuses on the area of Český Krumlov defined by the administrative district of the municipality of Český Krumlov. The process of depopulation of rural areas is regarded as a natural part of the development of domestic migration, whose social consequences, however, to various degrees negatively influence individual rural municipalities as their future wellbeing depends largely on the quality of life of their inhabitants. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part includes characteristics and typology of rural environment, the description of its life style including the positive as well as negative social aspects, processes of domestic migration influencing rural areas, and the way to ensure its future, which lies in local planning and the development of social services based on a community-managed medium-term planning of social services. The practical part focuses on fulfilling the goal of the thesis, which is defining the trends in the process of moving from villages to cities, and social impacts of the process from the point of view of the mayors of Český Krumlov area municipalities. Within my qualitative research strategy. I headed towards my goal with the help of a questioning method and a technique of semi-structured interview. The questions used in the thesis are the following: "What are, according to the mayors, the reasons that make people move out of villages?", "How does the decrease in population show in the day-to-day village life?", " How do villages motivate people to stay and live there?". The communication partners were five mayors from selected municipalities in the region of Český Krumlov. The results of the thesis may be used as an aid for the strategy planning of rural municipalities and for enhancing the quality of everyday life of their inhabitants. At the same time the thesis may serve as a tool for increasing the awareness of inhabitants of the areas of Český Krumlov when it comes to domestic migration.
Linear features of agricultural landscape of the Pilsen region border area
Černík, Lukáš ; Kabrda, Jan (advisor) ; Kučera, Zdeněk (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on the development of linear features in agricultural area of the Pilsen region border area. Transformation in the landscape microstructure are researched by an evaluation of the linear features changes. The states in the middle of the 20th century and in the present are compared by the indicator 'density of the linear features in the agricultural landscape'. According to the assumption, the number of the linear features has noticeably declined. The biggest declined number refers to the linear features of communications. The number of the dry vegetation and wet watercourses linear features has slightly increased. Concerning length, the biggest decrease refers to the number of the narrowest and narrow linear features, while the number of wide linear features have increased. The decline of the linear features is more noticeable in areas struck by the expulsion of Czech Germans than in areas where Czech inhabitants have lived. The assumption, that demographical changes had influenced changes in the microstructure of the border areas, was proved. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Klusáček, Petr ; Krejčí, T.
The article is dealing with the issue of the population spatial changes on the territory of two secondary cities (cities with more than 200,000 inhabitants) in the Czech Republic (Brno and Ostrava) after 1989. The special attention is especially paid to the analysis of the selected basic demographic indicators (e.g. population change between 1991 and 2001 census, natural increase, net migration, index of ageing), which are connected with the processes of the second demographic transition. The contribution is also focused on some methodological questions – especially evaluation of the availability and reliability of the available statistical data for the different spatial hierarchical levels (urban districts, basic settlements units).
